BU-Zone AfricA: South Africa, November ’25
WHAT a journey it WAS
What a journey it was
From the ocean-kissed tranquillity of Camps Bay to the wild pulse of Africa at Arathusa and the gentle winelands charm of Babylonstoren, BU Zone Africa unfolded at a pace that allowed us to arrive fully in each place.
We moved, we breathed, we shared tables, stories, and early mornings. The women who gathered made the experience what it became – not just scenic, but sincere. Laughter came easily, conversations went deep, and a sense of belonging unfolded that wasn’t forced.
South Africa held us the way she always does – through her people first. Warm welcomes, small kindnesses, familiar smiles, and a grounded hospitality that made each check-in feel more like a return than an arrival. It reminded us that travel can feel like coming home, even when you’re far from yours.
This was never simply a trip. It became a circle of wonderful people who showed up honestly – curious, open, steady, and willing to be moved by the land and by each other.
As we close this chapter, I hope the feeling of it stays in subtle ways. In how you exhale, how you rest, how you move, and how you reconnect with yourself back home.
BU Zone Africa has now been lived – fully, beautifully, and with heart.
Until the next one…
❤️ Sam
What made this experience different?
Cape Town Coastal Luxury
A Taste Of Our Journey
The city was a fusion of raw natural beauty and effortless style – where mountain trails, world-class dining, and salty ocean air created an atmosphere unlike anywhere else.
Our home for this leg of the journey was Camps Bay Retreat, set against the towering Twelve Apostles mountain range, with sweeping views of the coastline. From there, everything was at our fingertips – scenic drives, mountain hikes with breathtaking panoramas, and crisp, cold-water dips in the Atlantic that left us feeling invigorated and alive.
Cape Town was a place to indulge in the best of life – from long, sunlit lunches and exquisite wines to vibrant street markets and designer boutiques. Whether we were exploring its diverse food culture, feeling the pulse of the city, or simply soaking in the golden light over the ocean, we came to understand why this is one of the most powerful energy centers in the world.
Welcome to the Sabi Sand Reserve: the birthplace of the private African safari. Here, wildlife roamed freely and close encounters with the Big Five unfolded in the most effortless way.
At Arathusa Safari Lodge, we experienced:
- Wildlife on our doorstep – elephants, buffalo, and hippos gathering at the waterhole, visible from our suites.
- Twice-daily game drives – exploring iconic landscapes, spotting elusive leopards, and watching rhinos move like shadows through the bush.
- Immersive nature moments – golden sunsets, the hush of morning light, and the quiet that asked us to slow down and truly arrive.
- Time for rest and renewal – reading by the pool, long lunches, nourishing dinners, and spa treatments held by the natural world.
- Evenings under the stars – storytelling by the fire and falling asleep to the wild, carried on the night air.

The Final Chapter in the Cape Winelands
At Babylonstoren, time slowed. The scent of ripening fruit hung in the air, mountains rose above rolling vineyards, and golden afternoons stretched into long, starlit evenings.
Our Winelands stay included:
- The Farmhouse at Babylonstoren – our sanctuary where heritage met understated luxury.
- Daily movement rituals – morning and evening sessions of Pilates, yoga, or Gyrokinesis, offering intentional time each day to reconnect with our bodies and find balance.
- Immersive experiences – harvesting fresh produce, traditional bread-making, pottery, woven into slow, tactile days.
- Restorative wellness – wood-fired hot tubs and sauna time each afternoon, softening the body and quieting the mind.
- A taste of culture – Franschhoek’s markets, galleries, boutiques, and award-winning restaurants offered easy exploration.
